COVID 19 Updates
Novel Corona COVID-19) pandemic has affected all over the world. While in some places where after the devastating tolls there are signs of hope and restoration, the situation in India is titling from bad to worse. The latest statistics forecast a grim picture of soaring infected cases and death toll. In Kerala, our home State which had so far braved the spread of virus, with the returnees coming from countries or states outside, there are steady increase in cases of Covid 19. There are 20,895 affected cases and 68 deaths reported due to Covid 19. In Alleppey as reported on July 28, 2020, there are 1596 confirmed cases and 5 death reports.
Diocese of Alleppey: Now we are on an emergency situation as the Covid 19 positive cases are soaring on the coastal belt of the diocese. There are three death reports from the parish of St Michael's church, Kattor, St Augustine's Church, Mararikulam and in Sebastian's church, Pallithode. There are many more affected people. Most of them are from St George's church, Chellanam, number nearing 190 people. Recent tests show more people with affected cases nearing the number 300. People are in very difficult financial situation as they are unable to go for the daily works.
The body of the person who died as Covid-19 positive is buried at St.Augustine Church, Mararikulam.
